Lending protocol Aave is considering a proposal to deploy its V3 on the Base network. This proposal was put forward by Francis Gowen, a protocol specialist at the Flipside Crypto analytics company, who is a delegate and participant in Aave. It is currently being reviewed and everyone in the Aave community is welcome to comment.
In his proposal, Gowen defined the proposed risk parameters for the assets to be listed on Base. If the proposal receives enough preliminary votes of support, it will move to the next stage for further discussion and risk assessment. If successful, the proposal will be subject to a final on-chain vote, paving the way for its implementation and deployment on the network.
Gowen also suggested that this integration of Aave with Base could create significant revenue streams for the project and give it access to a potentially large user base. The high activity of developers at the initial stage of Base’s work confirms this potential. For example, now 18,000 developers have already deployed 55,000 smart contracts on the testnet, which indicates a significant growth potential for the main network after its launch.
However, this collaboration will also benefit the Base network, which is currently in its testing phase. The project was created back in February, and the launch of the mainnet is planned for the end of the year.
Recently, the Aave protocol was temporarily stopped due to the latest update in Aave V2 (Polygon). It affected assets worth $110 million. The reason for the stop is that the new strategy is only compatible with Ethereum, not Polygon.
