A resident of the Dagestan village of Novoe Gadari, who engaged in underground mining in 2021, received a year and a half of imprisonment on probation and must pay power engineers 970,000 rubles.
Law enforcement authorities claim that in December 2021, a man rented a room on a land plot in the village of Novoe Gadari and placed 84 ASIC miners there. Then he brought and installed a power transformer, illegally connecting to the power lines of the Kizilyurt district energy networks. The total damage, according to Rosseti North Caucasus, exceeded 1 million rubles.
The court punished the underground miner with a suspended sentence – the convict fully admitted his guilt and had already partially compensated the damage to the power engineers. However, representatives of Rosseti filed a claim for compensation in the amount of 970,000 rubles, which the court also satisfied.
Recently, law enforcement agencies of the Irkutsk region closed an underground mining farm in Bratsk. 60 ASIC miners were located in the basement of an apartment building.
