According to the latest weekly report from the Cardano developers, Hydra’s layer 2 scalability solution is almost ready to go live. In the near future, the release of the beta version of the product will be initiated on the main network. As stated in the report, the team at work has been working on Hydra node compatibility. In addition, the programmers added a “golden test suite” for Plutus scripts and corrected some misconfigurations.
The developers have set a time limit of the main network in the amount of 100 ADA “per fix”. The team representatives also said that they were working on smaller tasks in preparation for the launch of the beta version of the main network. They noted that the Cardano Hydra scalability solution aims to improve transaction speed by providing low latency, high throughput and minimal transaction fees.
Hydra Head will lay the groundwork for “advanced deployment situations.” Decentralized applications (dApps), smart contracts and other applications could be built on top of Cardano thanks to the Alonzo update. The next logical step was Hydra, which will allow adding a new protocol on top of the existing first-level block chain.
In addition, it became known that not only Hydra is being actively developed. Programmers are seriously puzzled by the latest stages of debugging Mithril, which should also debut in beta on the mainnet.
According to statistics, 1215 projects are currently being developed on the basis of Cardano, and 118 have already been finally launched. A total of 63.5 million transactions were made. There were 8.03 million native Cardano tokens distributed across 70.93 thousand minting policies. There were also 7.49k Plutus scripts created, of which 2.27k were Plutus v2.
