Decentralized social network Damus has announced a new feature that will allow users to earn Satoshi, the smallest fraction of Bitcoin, through interactions on the platform.
Coming soon in the next version… earn Satoshi through posts! This post earned 118K Satoshi which is about $40. Pretty good!
Damus positions itself as a social network controlled by users and not dependent on centralized companies. The app is built on Nostr, or Relay Notes and Other Materials decentralized network, which provides end-to-end private messaging.
There are no servers on this network; instead, the protocol uses decentralized relays to distribute messages.
Former CEO of Twitter (social network banned in Russia) Jack Dorsey expressed his support for Nostr by supporting the developers of the project with a donation of 14 BTC, which at that time was equal to approximately $ 250,000.
Dorsey has long talked about creating a decentralized alternative to Twitter that is resistant to corporate or government control, while leaving the right for users to remove content and introducing algorithmic moderation.
