Starting today, Twitter will share revenue with creators for ads that appear in discussions under their posts. To qualify, the account must be a Twitter Blue Verified account.
Previously, celebrities, journalists, officials, businessmen, and other public figures were entitled to the coveted Twitter blue tick. To do this, it was necessary to fill out an application, attaching supporting documents. But Musk has consistently denounced the process. By buying Twitter, he made the subscription paid. Now, for just $8, anyone can get a blue checkmark.
Earlier this week, the Financial Times reported that Twitter was preparing to start accepting crypto payments. Musk wants Twitter payments to be made primarily in fiat currencies, but engineers will build the payment product in a way that will allow for the addition of crypto payments in the future.
