In 2023, the digital currency will be designated as a legal product on the Russian market.
Thus, an end will be put to a long-term discussion about the format for using an innovative tool, said State Duma deputy Anatoly Aksakov, who spoke last Monday at the RBC forum “Crypto. Cryptocurrencies, mining and digital assets.”
At the same time, the chairman of the Duma Committee on the Financial Market recalled that Russians will be able to use bitcoin and other virtual currencies as a payment instrument only on foreign platforms.
According to Aksakov, in 2023, in the jurisdiction of the Russian Federation, the cryptocurrency will receive the status of a legal product. He allowed the use of virtual assets in foreign markets to finance export-import transactions in circumvention of sanctions.
The MP also added that the government and the Central Bank have developed a common position in relation to the mining industry.
Until the end of next week, the Cabinet of Ministers and the Central Bank will present an official position on this issue. This decision will speed up the legalization of crypto mining in our country, which is still in the gray zone, the parliamentarian concluded.
