Former US intelligence agent Edward Snowden criticized Craig Wright for trying to impersonate the creator of bitcoin
Former American intelligence agent Edward Snowden has criticized Craig Wright for trying to pretend to be the creator of bitcoin (BTC) Satoshi Nakamoto. The skirmish between Snowden and Wright took place on Twitter when Snowden posted a screenshot of the Bitcoin whitepaper.

To the screenshot, a former US intelligence agent added: “14 years ago [был представлен документ, — прим. ред.], while Satoshi is still anonymous. Marvelous”. In response, Craig Wright wrote that he was “never anonymous”, calling Snowden a “treacherous bastard”.
In turn, Snowden reminded Wright that he had lost in a Norwegian court case against a crypto investor under the nickname Hodlonaut. Recall that the court agreed with the position of the investor, who argued that Wright was not the creator of bitcoin. Hodlonaut also claimed that Wright was nothing more than a “mentally ill con man”.
As a result, the court ordered Wright to pay compensation to Hodlonaut in the amount of $348,257. Snowden also emphasized that the previously infamous bitcoin self-proclaimer followed a different line of behavior, hiding behind the anonymity of the real Satoshi Nakamoto. Wright did not respond to Snowden’s accusations.
In the summer of 2022, Wright sued the American crypto exchanges Coinbase and Kraken. The cause of the lawsuit was the advertising of bitcoin core (BTC) crypto exchanges as the original bitcoin. According to Wright, crypto exchanges encourage investors to trade and invest in the version of bitcoin that was formed as a result of the fork in 2017. At the same time, according to Wright, bitcoin satoshi vision (BSV) is allegedly the canonical version of bitcoin, another version of bitcoin formed as a result of the hard fork from bitcoin cash (BCH) in November 2018.
