According to documents filed with the SEC on September 26, a new Ethereum index fund launched by Fidelity Investments provides its clients with access to ETH.
The fund, set up by a multi-trillion dollar asset manager, accepts a minimum outside investment of $50,000 and has recorded sales of just over $5,000,000.
News that Fidelity could soon provide retail consumers with crypto offerings circulated earlier this month.
Fidelity created channels into the cryptocurrency markets in 2018 when it launched a bitcoin trading business targeting institutional investors and hedge funds. In 2020, Fidelity launched a bitcoin index fund, whose investments exceeded $125 million last May.
