Market-leading NFT trading platform OpenSea has implemented layer 2 support for the Ethereum Optimism network.
The decision affects Optimism-based NFT projects such as Apetimism, Bored Town, Motor Headz, and Optichads, according to a tweet.
The addition of NFT projects based on Optimism increases the number of supported blockchains in OpenSea to six; on September 20, the platform integrated Arbitrum.
OpenSea’s new moves to work with Optimism follow a number of other developments, including the integration of the OpenRarity NFT scarcity tool and automatic indexing for Solana-based NFTs.
Optimism is an Ethereum layer 2 scaling protocol. The Optimism project released its governance token OP on May 31 of this year, after which a hack attack took place, during which 20 million OP were stolen, 1 million of which went to Vitalik Buterin’s wallet.
