Today, September 27, the head of the American branch of the FTX exchange, Bret Harrison, announced his resignation. In the future, he plans to take the position of an adviser in the company. In his personal Twitter, the expert announced that within a few months he will transfer duties to his successor.
Harrison joined FTX in May 2021 to help expand its presence in the US. In the end, it was decided to create a branch of the exchange in America, headquartered in Chicago. According to Harrison’s comments, the organization now employs over 100 professionals.
It is noteworthy that the resignation of the head of FTX US followed several departures of the heads of several well-known crypto sites over the past few weeks. For example, today, September 27, Celsius Network CEO Alex Mashinsky submitted his resignation. The executive said he made the decision because his current position was distracting him from key areas that would enable Celsius to navigate a protracted crisis. In July of this year, the crypto lender filed for bankruptcy amid the collapse of the Terra ecosystem.
Last week, Kraken co-founder and CEO Jesse Powell also stepped down.
Despite leaving the high position, the specialist stressed that he would continue to work in the company.
Earlier, the editors of Crypto.ru informed: the head of the Federal System, Jerome Powell, once again criticized the cryptocurrency segment. According to the official, decentralized finance has a number of significant shortcomings in the context of their transparency. Powell also emphasized that the potential risks of the digital asset industry have escalated against the backdrop of tightening the monetary policy of the department under his control.
