Galaxy Digital Co-Head of Trading Robert Bogutsky will leave the company for a position at cryptocurrency hedge fund BH Digital. It is reported by Axios.
The structure is part of the Brevan Howard Asset Management of billionaire Alan Howard. Representatives of the company declined to comment, Bogutsky did not respond to a request from the publication.
“We wish Robert the best of luck,” said Galaxy Digital spokesman Michael Wursthorn, confirming his dismissal.
Bogutsky joined Galaxy Digital crypto bank in 2021. According to his LinkedIn profile, he previously held senior positions at Lehman Brothers, Merill Lynch, Barclays, and also worked at Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs.
In August, a group of top managers from Galaxy Digital, Genesis and Convex Trading filed an application to register a $500 million crypto fund. The media noticed that the structure would be headed by specialists from companies affected by the collapse of Terra and problems with the hedge fund Three Arrows Capital (3AC).
Galaxy Digital became one of the investors in Terraform Labs, the company behind the Terra ecosystem. The company also ended up on the list of 3AC creditors.
According to the results of the second quarter of 2022, the total loss of the crypto bank amounted to $554.7 million.
Recall that in August it became known that the volume of assets of the BH Digital division exceeded $1 billion.
