Mining equipment is quite expensive, in addition, it costs a lot of money both the delivery itself and the installation of such equipment.
However, if specialized asics are used with maximum power, they will quickly deteriorate and become unusable.
For miners, there are two difficult tasks at the same time:

- Maximize equipment life.
These are practically mutually exclusive tasks, however, powerful cooling is required to solve them.
During operation of the equipment, overheating should not be allowed. This requires powerful cooling systems that would be used on an industrial scale.
One of the best cooling systems is immersion cooling. Immersion cooling allows equipment to be immersed in a special liquid that has dielectric properties.
The liquid maintains a constant temperature, thanks to which the equipment does not overheat.
In addition to the dielectric properties, the liquid is also inert, that is, it does not interact with the equipment. And this means that no external harm or damage is caused to the equipment.
Thus, the liquid not only cools the mining equipment, but also protects it from external environmental influences.
On an industrial scale, there is a lot of dust and dirt. Therefore, the main harm to mining equipment is caused not only by overheating, but also by pollution and dust, due to which the equipment loses its performance.
On the Internet, professional cooling equipment can be freely bought. Many manufacturers make special baths with immersion cooling. However, any professional equipment is expensive. In addition, it requires delivery, professional installation.
At the same time, many miners mine at home artisanal conditions. They know how hot industrial equipment is and how hot it is in the room where the equipment is located.
To ensure the cooling of ASICs, many miners prefer to build their own baths with immersion cooling.
Usually at home, to create a bath, they buy an aquarium of a suitable size. It holds water well and is easy to use.
However, you can use any suitable plastic container that is cheaper than an aquarium. The main condition is that such a container holds water well and does not leak.
To cool the liquid and maintain its constant temperature, it is necessary to ensure the circulation of the liquid.
It is necessary to cool the heated liquid and return it to the working container. To do this, you can use a circulation pump, a heat exchange device, for example, a brazed heat exchanger.
A strainer must be installed to prevent clogging of the coolant circulation system.
The disadvantages of this system
- Consumes a lot of electricity, expensive to maintain. Cooling takes approximately 25% of the ASIC power.
- The equipment can only be installed from above, which means that racks cannot be used.
- Takes up a lot of space.
- When changing equipment, the liquid may leak out, and it leaves traces and is difficult to wipe off.
- Fluid must be filtered.
Advantages of this system
- Asics performance increases.
- The distance between ASICs in one container can be minimal.
- The temperature of the room does not heat up from the operation of ASICs.
- The equipment does not get dirty.
- There is no dust in the room in good humidity.
