Ripple developers have launched a new version of the XLS-20d token standard on the XRP Ledger blockchain. The format, currently used in beta mode, is intended to expand the functionality of NFT tokens.
The first implementation of XLS-20 appeared on the XRP Ledger blockchain at the end of 2021, but did not become widespread, despite the funding offered by a special fund of $250 million.
According to analysts, the lack of attention to NFTs on Ripple was due precisely to the functional limitations of unique tokens. This time, XLS-20d developers will independently show the new possibilities of the format in joint projects with corporations and government agencies.
This news has not yet affected the XRP rate. In general, the cryptocurrency shows the best dynamics this year, relative to other digital currencies. Investors managed to fully buy back the fall and recently tested the highs of the year.
