The microblogging platform Reddit launched support for non-fungible tokens (NFT), and also managed to sell a limited collection
Reddit users can now put non-fungible tokens (NFTs) on their avatars. The site announced this in a special section about NFTs. According to the details of the innovation, users will only be able to install 4 limited NFTs created by Reddit itself.
To do this, users must redeem the NFT from the current owners. For example, one of the first NFT buyers forked out 115 ETH (~$400,000), so it’s hardly worth waiting for a lower price. However, as can be seen from the transaction history below, one of the NFT owners once spent 175 wETH on the token, and resold it for 42 ETH.
However, it is worth noting that there is no evidence that the seller and buyer are not the same person. Users with NFT avatars will stand out from other users due to glowing animation.

- At the end of January, Twitter introduced the functionality for setting NFT as an avatar. The new tool is based on the API of the popular OpenSea NFT marketplace.
- The platform supports Coinbase Wallet, MetaMask, Rainbow, Argent, Trust and Ledger Live crypto wallets. Users of iOS devices can be the first to get access to the new functionality.
- Support for NFT avatars has also been added to OnlyFans. According to the head of the service Amrapali Gan, the innovation is designed to help content creators “unleash their full potential.”
