The NFT collection supports the initiatives of the crypto community and donates a cryptocurrency equivalent to $1 million to the country.
In the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) community, a message appeared yesterday about the transfer of $1 million in ETH to the address of the official Ukrainian crypto wallet, decrypt reports.
In his Twitter account, BAYC announced yesterday that he was inspired by the contributions of his community members, and therefore transferred 388,999 ETH (over $1 million) to the official Ukrainian crypto wallet address. The representatives of the account supplemented their message with a corresponding link to the Etherscan transaction.
The message, at the time of writing the news, has already collected almost 9 thousand likes, over 300 comments and almost 2 thousand retweets.
NFT (non-fungible token) are non-fungible tokens that exist in the blockchain and confirm ownership of the token. BAYC was among the top collections, whose Floor price (minimum purchase price) was one of the first to exceed 50 Ethereum. At the end of last year, the minimum price of the BAYC NFT collection was 54 ETH, and the minimum price of NFTs from the CryptoPunk collection was 52.8 ETH.
At its core, Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) is a collection of 10,000 NFT monkeys that have some kind of unique characteristics. So, for example, monkeys with wool of gold are less common, and therefore they are more expensive than their other counterparts. The collection was especially popular due to the hype that arose around it, as well as the attention from popular influencers (Eminem, Steph Curry, etc.).
Today, according to OpenSea, BAYC is in the TOP-3 largest among such collections of non-fungible tokens, which recorded over 417,000 ETH (approximately $1 billion) in its secondary sales.
BAYC has contributed to helping Ukraine after many other members of the crypto industry reported similar charitable initiatives. As information from Merkle Science shows, donations to Ukraine currently amount to over $88.5 million in crypto assets.
