Cryptocurrency platform Bakkt conducted a study on the involvement of women in the cryptocurrency industry. Along the way, analysts found that ETH, BTC and DOGE remain the most popular coins in the US.

The Women & Crypto survey, conducted in February, polled 1,012 people in the US. 504 respondents reported that they own cryptocurrencies, while 84% of them were men. However, those women who have already bought digital assets reported an interest in the industry and intentions to continue investing in this area.

“Both women and men reported that they buy BTC and ETH the most. Dogecoin was in third place in terms of popularity. Quite often, they invest in other cryptocurrencies, ”the report says.

The main reasons for refusing to invest in cryptocurrencies were given by women as a lack of knowledge about this area, a lack of understanding of the applicability of cryptocurrencies, and a lack of extra funds for investment. Interestingly, users often receive the first cryptocurrencies as part of loyalty programs.

“Respondents receive the first coins as a gift, through the exchange of loyalty points for cryptocurrency or through loyalty programs. Such cases even exceed the popularity of traditional methods and provide an opportunity to join the cryptocurrency industry for everyone, regardless of income or gender,” said Nancy Gordon, director of loyalty programs at Bakkt.

Last year, a Pew Research Center survey showed that 86% of US adults “know something” about cryptocurrencies, and 16% of Americans invest in them.
