Japanese investment bank Nomura, which manages a portfolio of assets worth $641 billion, has decided to enter the NFT industry. The topic of unique tokens will be developed by a new division created on the basis of the Future Innovation Company.
NFT is a special format of indivisible tokens that can be associated with digital art objects, using them to store fragments of content of cultural or archival value on the blockchain.
The sphere of collecting is traditionally interesting for investors. The purchase of antiques is the best of investments, guaranteeing a constant increase in investment or a huge income if the capital is invested at the time of the birth of a new industry.
Nomura is going to advise investors on which digital works or NFT cards related to GameFi and sports are worth investing in. The bank will take care of the technical side of processing transactions and storing tokens.
Almost simultaneously with Nomura, the Japanese financial conglomerate Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG) announced its desire to enter the NFT market. The company has just closed its blockchain payment network project “Global Open Network Japan” in order to put all its efforts into cooperation with Animoca Brands.
According to a MUFG representative, the bank will take over the posting and processing of fiat transactions, and will act as a guarantor of custodial storage of NFTs. Animoca Brands will have the main job of creating a platform and attracting partners and copyright holders with interesting NFT tokens.
The Japanese financial giant SBI Holdigs also did not stay away from the popular topic of trading in unique digital assets. The bank was one of the first to be interested in cryptocurrencies and blockchain technologies in Japan, so it implemented the SBINFT Market project without any problems, which will start working on March 17th.
The marketplace will offer customers the purchase and sale of NFT tokens created on the Ethereum blockchain of the Polygon second-level network with the possibility of paying in cryptocurrency and fiat via bank cards. Institutions can count on the services of storage, expert evaluation of an asset, or order an auction.
