Limiting the circulation of cryptocurrencies is contrary to the policy to support the IT industry in Russia. Vedomosti writes about this with reference to the statement of the head of the Ministry of Digital Development Maksut Shadayev.
“The introduction of any restrictions on the issuance and circulation of cryptocurrencies will lead to the fact that the industry of blockchain solutions within the country will cease to develop. Any regulatory restriction in this part will lead to an outflow of specialized specialists to other countries,” the minister said.
Instead of a ban, he proposed ensuring market transparency and reducing risks for conscientious investors through clear legislation.
According to the concept of regulation of the cryptocurrency market presented by the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Digital Development should become one of the six supervisory authorities. Experts have already warned that this is fraught with abuse of authority and difficulties for the players.
Recall that the other day, the Managing Director of Simoleon Long-Term Value, Dan Wolf, said that it is impossible to advocate for the development of the blockchain in Russia and at the same time make the circulation of bitcoin in the country illegal.
