Cryptocurrency owners should not remain anonymous due to the risks of using such assets for criminal purposes. This was stated by the head of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin, writes “Rossiyskaya Gazeta”.
According to him, crypto assets can be used to finance terrorism.
“Therefore, the turnover of digital currency requires further legal regulation – first of all, mandatory identification of users of such currency is required,” Bastrykin said.
Recall that in December, the head of the IC said that cryptocurrencies should be recognized as property and the procedure for their confiscation should be introduced into the legislation.
The Russian Prosecutor General’s Office announced the preparation of rules that would make it possible to recognize digital assets as the subject of a crime and seize them.
