The parties did not disclose the financial terms of the deal.
Through the partnership, Bitso and the national team will foster the adoption of cryptocurrencies in the region, starting with the provision of educational programs. The agreement also provides for the release of the Mexican national team of the NFT collection, which will be distributed exclusively by the exchange.
“Our football team constantly encourages us to dream of reaching new heights, so we cannot ask for a better ally to promote access to technology and innovation throughout the region,” said Daniel Vogel, co-founder and CEO of Bitso.
The new partnership in the company was called part of an “aggressive growth strategy” that Bitso adopted after reaching a valuation of $ 2.2 billion. The exchange has more than 3.7 million users and positions itself as the third largest fintech startup in Latin America.
The sponsorship agreement with the Mexican national team was the third for the company in the football world. Bitso already partners with the Tigres team from the Mexican championship and one of the leading clubs in Brazil, Sao Paulo.
Let us remind you that the Italian football clubs Milan and Inter also have sponsors from the cryptoindustry – multi-year agreements, respectively, were concluded by the BitMEX derivatives exchange and the blockchain company Zytara Labs.
