Fashion brand Gap launched its first NFT collection in collaboration with Brandon Sines, the artist for Frank Ape.
Through the gaming digital experience, customers can unlock the opportunity to buy Sines digital art and a limited edition physical Gap hoodie.
“The Gap has always been at the intersection of music, art and culture, so we are excited about this digital growth opportunity with artists like Brandon Sines,” Chris Goble, chief product and general manager of Gap North America, said in a statement.
The NFT collection has been deployed on the Tezos proof-of-stake blockchain, which has recently been featured in other consumer-centric brand collections including Ubisoft, Pantone and Red Bull. The Gap Collection Experience is created in collaboration with InterPop, a production studio using Tezos.
The collection will consist of four tiers available on a first come, first served basis with limited editions at Rare and Epic tiers. Additional digital capabilities are planned for the future.
Through this new project, the company said it hopes to gain insight into how customers want to participate in the digital world.
