The release of the SaitaMask cryptocurrency app for Android and iOS mobile devices was overshadowed by massive DDoS attacks that disrupted the program.
On January 9, Google Play and App Store users reported bugs in SaitaMask. People were unable to create accounts and complained about the lack of network connectivity. One of the dissatisfied customers even called the software creators scammers. Subsequently, it turned out that the problems arose through the fault of hackers, not software developers.
The API for registering in the application has ceased to function normally due to a bot attack. We temporarily disabled the program to mitigate the consequences of the attack. We will inform about the restoration of the service, – said representatives of the developer Saitama.
We experienced a massive bot attack on our sign up api which caused some disruption. We restricted use currently while we mitigate the attack. We will update when the app is under normal operation. Current ETA 9 PM EST

After a few hours, the engineers fixed the issues and noted that the purpose of the attack was to delay the release of the application. That is why the cybercriminals did not try to hack the security system; accordingly, the personal data of users were not stolen.
SaitaMask consists of three main elements:
- Crypto wallet;
- Trading platform;
- Platforms for creating and selling NFT.

The App Store does not publish statistics on the number of downloads, but judging by the number of reviews, the program was installed by at least 2,600 people. It is also worth noting that SaitaMask was ranked 93rd in the “Finance” section of the Apple App Store.
