A study by Electric Capital says Ethereum continues to attract the largest number of developers.
Other blockchains are not yet able to compete with the leading network. Moreover, the number of projects launched on Ethereum is growing, despite the problems with its performance.
ETH’s key competitors are Polkadot, Solana, and Binance Chain. The number of developers using their power is also growing, the researchers stressed.
More than 4,000 startups operate on Ethereum every month, while only 680 developers use the Bitcoin network. 2021 turned out to be a record year for the number of teams using the main blockchains to launch services.
Analysts found that over the past 12 months, the total number of developers using decentralized technologies has exceeded 34,000. The largest ecosystems at the moment are Ethereum, Polkadot, Cosmos, Solana and Bitcoin.
The Polkadot network employs 1,500 active developers. Tezos, Polygon, and Cardano are also attracting blockchain startups. On average, 250 teams work in these networks every month.
According to researchers, the most promising networks in 2022 will be Polkadot, Solana, NEAR, Binance Chain, Avalanche and Terra. These blockchains will be able to compete successfully with Ethereum due to low fees and high performance, the report says.
