The KLAY cryptocurrency was remembered by many investors last year for its unexpected appearance in the top 30 ranking. This service token of the Klayth blockchain grew thanks to the efforts of the developers, the team of the Korean messenger KakaoTalk, which sought to repeat the success of Pavel Durov’s Telegram Open Network.
The growth of KLAY in 2021 was due to a large-scale airdrop – the distribution of this token to millions of Korea Economic Daily subscribers, whose leadership was included in the Board of Directors of the blockchain platform.
Simultaneously with the airdrop, Kakao achieved widespread adoption of cryptocurrency to pay for goods and services, released a branded smartphone based on Samsung Galaxy with a built-in wallet and network support. Now the management of the messenger will place on Klayth an ecosystem of virtual games with a “play to earn” model.
According to the Korean business publication Money Today Broadcasting, the messenger bought Way2Bit last year, which has developed a second-tier network for monetizing gaming content. The protocol allows game producers to issue their own tokens and NFTs tied to in-game items, then exchanging them for the BORA service cryptocurrency.
Now BORA has already migrated to Klayth. In the future, it is planned to release game tokens directly in this system. Kakao is thus monetizing its own games, which are produced by a separate division based on the previously acquired Lionheart Studio.
She is best known for her massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) Odin, which will be Kakao’s first play to earn project. Insiders have not yet won back this information, the BORA coin has grown by only 6% in a day.
The maximum growth of the token happened last year. BORA skyrocketed 1000% after its developers were taken over by the Kakao messenger.
KLAY added one and a half percent yesterday, speculators ignored the official cryptocurrency.
