NieR video game producer Yosuke Saito expressed interest in making games with non-fungible token (NFT) elements
Video game producer NieR sees potential in games with non-fungible token (NFT) elements. Writes about this publication Famitsu, who interviewed employees of the game publisher Square Enix. In addition to Saito, NFT is also reportedly interested in Final Fantasy VII remake producer Yoshinori Kitase. Dragon Quest series producer Noriyoshi Fujimoto also stood up for the technology.
However, according to him, it is too early to speak unambiguously about the creation of NFT games due to the lack of clarity with the regulation of the market, Fujimoto said. Konami and SEGA were interested in tokens, but the companies also did not provide details on possible products.
Recall that in early November, Square Enix announced that the transition from centralized games to decentralization would benefit the industry. A Japanese video game developer has reported that it has successfully tested a concept for a mobile NFT card game called Shi-San-Sei Million Arthur.
The company will now focus on commercializing the project. Square Enix also believes that video games have begun to move away from purely centralized models. Players, according to the Japanese company, are more interested in decentralized products.

However, Ubisoft did not notice the excitement around the new technology. Earlier, the French video game development company said it did not intend to give up on the NFT, despite the fact that the players are boycotting the initiative.
As the media found out, part Ubisoft employees do not understand what problems the technology of non-fungible tokens solves. Others are worried about the obligation to implement NFT in all of the company’s games. The gaming community also made it clear that it is not enthusiastic about the initiatives of the company’s management. According to gaming publications, just a few hours after the announcement, the NFT integration ad got over 40,000 dislikes.
