Marathon Digital Holdings, has placed a record order for the latest generation Bitcoin mining equipment from manufacturer Bitmain. Starting from July until the end of 2022, 199 thousand ASIC miners with a 5 nm chip will enter the mines of the company.
Delivering the highest performance Antminer S19XP in the industry, the new technology will increase Marathon’s overall hashrate by 600%.
The company promised investors to expand Bitcoin mining in 2022 by 13.3 EH / s, but now this figure has grown to 23.3 EH / s.
The deal on the purchase of new equipment was closed without attracting additional investments, thanks to savings on infrastructure development. The new Marathon miners will be located in Compute North data centers. True, the contract extended to 100 thousand pieces of equipment, possibly for the remaining 99 thousand ASIC miners, the company will be determined later.
