In Odintsovo near Moscow, employees of the management company installed ASIC miners in an apartment building and mined cryptocurrencies at the expense of residents. This was reported in social networks by residents of the Trekhgorka microdistrict.
From December 1, in the residential complex “Novaya Trekhgorka”, the management agreement with the “Alternative Profi” company was terminated in favor of the MC “Service House”. A few days later, representatives of the new company found a soundproofed room in the basement of the house, in which there were three working ASIC miners Canaan AvalonMiner 1066.
The devices were connected directly to the electrical control room of the house. The owner of the farm, according to the residents, turned out to be one of the employees of the management company “Alternative Profi”.
Residents wrote a statement to the prosecutor’s office, the equipment was seized.
Later it turned out that in the basement of at least one more house in Odintsovo, which is serviced by the Alternative Profi Management Company, they found mining equipment, but already turned off and hidden in a plywood box.
Earlier, the prosecutor’s office of the Smolensk region identified a farm for mining cryptocurrencies on the territory of the local State University of Sports. The preliminary amount of damage exceeded 5 million rubles.
