Russian clipmaker Timelab has sold 16 non-fungible tokens with St. Petersburg staff
The Russian studio Timelab, which creates films about cities and events of the world, has sold a collection of non-fungible tokens (NFT) in the form of 16 fragments dedicated to St. Petersburg. Writes about this “Paper” with reference to representatives of the studio.
The tokens of the Winter Saint Petersburg video were up for sale. At the time of this writing, the video was viewed 5.3 million times, and the amount of likes reached 162 thousand.
Tokens were sold on the OpenSea NFT marketplace. Each token is issued on the basis of the Ethereum blockchain according to the ERC-721 standard, and trading lasted until December 19. The initial auction bids were minimal – from 0.01 ETH (~ ₽3000). In the end, the best offer was the application for 0.02 ETH (~ ₽5500). In total, the studio has sold over a dozen of these tokens.
Timelab said the funds raised from the sale of NFT will be spent on filming a new video. In addition, part of the funds received from the auction will be transferred to the informal association of local historians “Geng”. The association is engaged in the search and restoration of architectural details of St. Petersburg, such as stoves, panels and tiles.

This is not the first time that an NFT token has been successfully sold in Russia. Recall that in mid-March, the Russian calligrapher Pokras Lampas sold a photo token of the Chirkeiskaya HPP with a projection of the author’s canvas for RUB 2 million. Initially, the author posted an NFT photo for 1 ETH, but in just a day the price increased to 16 ETH.
The editors also previously reported that the e-commerce service Shopify in beta mode launched its own NFT token marketplace in collaboration with third-party providers. Moreover, according to the information of the leaders of the service, the tokens will support the standards of several blockchain networks at once, including Ethereum, Flow and Polygon.
