Ethereum to become a decentralized app store?
Ethereum will de facto become a decentralized application store. Something like the App Store or Google Play. This will happen already in 2023. It is considered so none other than Microsoft’s director of digital transformation, York Rhodes.
Ether is known as a pioneer in the DApps market. The first widely known application of the ETH network was the CryptoKitties game. And today there are about 9,000 DApps on the market. Today Ethereum is under strong pressure from fast and efficient competitors – Solana and Polkadot.

Rhodes’ prediction is likely related to ETH’s transition from the Proof-of-Work model – used by Bitcoin, Litecoin and other early cryptocurrencies – to the Proof-of-Stake model. The latter is used by most of Ether’s competitors. And according to some, the move to PoS in 2022 will make the platform faster and lower online fees.
