Former Chairman of the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Jay Clayton, well known in the XRP community, published an article in the well-known publication The Wall Street Journal entitled “America’s Future Depends on Blockchain.” Needless to say, what kind of reaction it caused from XRP supporters.
For example, Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse considered it “ironic”, tweeting:
Siri, play “Ironic” by Alanis Morissette…https://t.co/idRTZmDSbL

Lawyer and human rights activist John Deaton, who fights for the rights of affected XRP investors, wrote that “Clayton’s courage is truly overwhelming.”
CLAYTON’S @WSJ OP-ED IS SIMPLY UNBELIEVABLE
Clayton’s audacity is truly staggering. 🥴 As you read his @WSJ article consider the following:
1) Senator @MikeCrapo wrote a letter to both the OCC and to Clayton, while at the @SECGov, seeking clarity regarding Crypto PAYMENTS! https://t.co/2q45VhE8Ng

He told his subscribers that while Clayton was head of the SEC, the regulator was repeatedly asked to clarify the rules regarding cryptocurrencies. We all know what happened next: instead of clarifying this area, on the last day as head of the Commission, he filed a lawsuit against Ripple.
