Majalaya will report directly to Binance.US President Brian Schroeder. The latter took over the division in September 2021.
“Binance.US is deeply committed to compliance and our priority is to maintain and develop our compliance and risk management organization,” Majalaya said.
Previously, the specialist led the profile departments at Oracle and Uber. Since 2019, he has served as Vice President of Legal Affairs and Chief Compliance Officer for Intel Corporation.
In April, Binance.US hired Brian Brooks, former head of the Treasury’s Office of the Comptroller of the Treasury as CEO. In July, he left the company, citing “different views on strategic direction of development” as reasons.
Later, the media wrote about Brooks’ conflict with the head of Binance Changpeng Zhao. Joshua Sroge, Chief Financial Officer of the American division, took up his position temporarily.
In September, Zhao announced plans for Binance.US to go public on the US stock market in the next three years.
Recall that in November, the American division of the bitcoin exchange disclosed plans to raise $ 200 million ahead of the IPO.
