The Chinese authorities have banned the use of short video and audio recordings to advertise mining and investment in cryptocurrencies. This will “improve the quality of information for users,” according to the statement.
The Chinese authorities announced a ban on video content (first of all, it concerns the Chinese social network TikTok), which encourages mining and cryptocurrency trading. According to official data, this measure should improve the quality of information and protect the stability of the socialist system of the state.
“The rules are formulated in accordance with national laws so that China can improve the quality of video content, limit the spread of malicious information and create a clean cyberspace,” – said in the document.
In addition, the statement noted that the country is prohibited from publishing information that: violates the “ideology and principles of socialism”; insults or attacks the ruling party and the country as a whole; violates the image of the country and the work of the main systems, etc. The list is long enough.
In particular, it is prohibited to make cuts from films, shows, TV series and use them to “incite the public to mining, trading and speculating in virtual currencies.” It is forbidden to use illegal information about products and services, methods of falsification and misleading the masses. Based on this, creators of video content about cryptocurrencies, for example, on Tik Tok, will face real difficulties.
Recall that yesterday, the People’s Court in Beijing rejected Fengfu Jiuxin’s claim for the return of 278 BTC. The company entered into an agreement for the supply and maintenance of ASIC miners, but the authorities dismissed the claim due to the fact that the company’s activities violated the bans on mining and trading cryptocurrencies.
