Mining company Genesis Digital Assets continues cooperation with the Chinese miner manufacturer Canaan. Under the new order, Canaan will supply 30,000 Avalon ASIC miners to the company.
In early September, Genesis purchased 20,000 Avalon ASIC miners from Canaan. In addition, the Chinese manufacturer has given an option to supply another 180,000 miners. It looks like the Icelandic mining company has decided to take advantage of the option – Canaan said in a statement that the company plans to supply another 150,000 devices to Genesis in the future.
“This massive order reflects our successful partnership with Genesis Digital Assets and strengthens our long-term partnership. We support Genesis as they open mining farms in various parts of the world. We are also excited to work with such clients to increase the share of renewable energy in mining, ”said Nangeng Zhang, Chairman and CEO of Canaan.
Genesis Digital Assets CEO Abdulbalik Mirakhmedov also highlighted the importance of a strategic partnership with Canaan as part of Genesis’s plans to achieve 1.9 GW capacity by the end of 2023. One of the steps towards achieving this goal was the opening of a 300 MW mining center in Texas.
