Several residents of the Irkutsk region immediately became victims of scammers who deceived them when buying equipment for mining cryptocurrencies or renting premises for farms. This was reported by the local Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Over the past few days, 16 local residents have turned to law enforcement officers with similar statements – they all wanted to start mining. Some tried to purchase equipment, others – to conclude a lease agreement for the creation of mining farms.

One of the victims transferred over 250,000 rubles to the cybercriminals for devices for mining cryptocurrencies, but the scammers stopped communicating, he never received the equipment.

In total, the victims lost over 2.5 million rubles.

Recall that in Kaluga, they are looking for scammers who lured 5 million rubles from a Russian under the guise of investing in cryptocurrencies.
