Now holders of the AGIX token from SingularityNET can abandon the Ethereum standard and switch to the Cardano blockchain.
According to a December 7 statement from Input Output, its AGIX ERC20 converter has been launched in testnet mode. Thanks to this, ERC20 tokens can be converted to the new format and transferred to the Yoroi wallet of the EMURGO or Daedalus project from Input Output.
Initially, the utility token was launched on the Ethereum blockchain under the ticker AGI, and in May it became compatible with Cardano.
SingularityNET functions as a blockchain-based artificial intelligence marketplace that aims to monetize various AI services.
The creator of SingularityNET is artificial intelligence pioneer Ben Herzel, best known for his work on the humanoid robot Sophia when he was chief scientist at Hong Kong-based firm Hanson Robotics.
Hertzel said the move to Cardano will allow the project to add new features:
The importance of this move for SingularityNET and the entire blockchain and AI ecosystem cannot be overstated. It will not only provide a much faster and more economical AI network, but will also improve the addition of new cutting edge features in SingularityNET and help us realize our vision of a decentralized AGI.
However, the AI project is not abandoning Ethereum, and its users can choose their preferred platform.
