The recently renamed Meta social network Facebook changed the ad policy rules in section 10, removing the list of cryptocurrency restrictions. The bans appeared in 2018, for the sake of fighting ICOs, effectively closing the platform for promoting crypto products.
The new rules recognize 27 regulatory licenses, instead of the previously allowed three, allowing advertising without notification: blockchain technology, crypto news, education services and payment methods for goods.
Preliminary approval will require advertising: exchanges, landing services, crypto-wallets, mining industry. The liberalization of the rules coincided with the launch of the Metaverse strategy, Facebook’s idea was picked up by the cryptocurrency market, which is able to offer more reliable technologies with economic benefits for the user.
Meta may lose this race of virtual worlds as the community gains more understanding of the blockchain mechanism and the benefits of code transparency. The massive distribution of cryptocurrencies contributes to such an educational program and the growth of trust in decentralized networks.
